Crank
Shaft:
Crank shaft is made from high carbon
normalised steel forging. It has large
bearing surface for smooth running.
The gun metal bushes 'fine finished
to close tolerances' are provided
for the Crank Shaft for running at
high speed. The Cross SEctional area
of the Crank pin is adequate to minimise
the deflection and to provide an optimum
factor of safety
Ram:
The ram is made of heavy duty cast
iron and is accurately machined. The
extra long cast iron guides are provided
for stability and to eliminate the
tendency to bind. The ball seat is
smooth enough to match bearing surfaces.
The ram has a round die stalk hole
and clamp. The ram can be easily adjusted
by screw on the sides.
Stroke:
Presses over 10 tons are manufactured
with adjustable stroke. The adjustment
is made by means of a sleeve with
multiple claws. The presses may be
operated for continuous stroke.
Brake:
Spring operated powerful heavy duty
brakes of release type is provided.
It works on Top dead centre at the
end of continuous sequence.
Inclining Mechanism:
The Press may be inclined to a maximum
of approximately 20 degree by jacking
screws positioned at the rear between
the sides. The inclining mechanism
properly balances the load on both
legs and keep the press sufficiently
high above the floor for a man to
operate it easily conveniently and
safely, while in a standing position.
The points of pivoting is so located
that in all positions the working
height of the press is not materially
changed. .
